How It Works
Proven Process that Leaders Follow: The VISTA Process Assessment involves several days on-site with your staff and internal customers. During that period VISTA engineers learn your goals and objectives, tour your software development facilities, meet your staff, and conduct detailed interviews with key individuals. Here's how the process works:
Pre-Assessment Meeting.
VISTA engineers meet with management in advance of the formal assessment to understand the group's goals and objectives. This discussion frames the assessment process and areas of major concern.
Process Assessment Questionnaire.
Management and staff complete a process questionnaire that serves as a foundation for the assessment. This
information shapes the focus of the inquiry along lines of greatest importance to the group.
Code Reviews.
VISTA engineers review and analyze programming samples from individuals in the development organization. Recommendations for continuous improvement are then incorporated in the assessment's findings.
Staff Interviews.
The VISTA team conducts on-site interviews with development staff, management, and internal customers. These interviews capture the day-to-day operations and processes currently in place for T&M software development.
Assessment Compilation.
The VISTA team then analyzes all information gathered during the pre-work and intensive on-site sessions. Findings are compared and contrasted with industry best practices in the top-line report card and formal report.
Assessment Meetings.
Within several weeks, findings, conclusions and recommendations are communicated to management and staff through assessment presentation meetings. These sessions highlight areas of strength, as well as suggest specific ways and means to improve software development.
